From avionics to real estate media

Derek grew up in small-town Indiana, went to automotive trade school at 17, and spent seven years working on cars before joining the U.S. Air Force in 2012. He served 13 years as an avionics technician on F-22 and MQ-9 aircraft and earned a degree in Avionic Technology. The Air Force brought his family to Alaska in 2020, and Palmer has been home since.

After active duty, he started Full Frame Media. In its first year the company photographed and filmed more than 200 homes across the Mat-Su Valley and Anchorage.

We don't close the door when the shoot is over

Full Frame Media stands out for its videography style and its customer service. The goal is to be the best real estate videographer in Alaska.

Every listing is also a chance for the agent to build their own name. That is why on-camera content and how agents present themselves online get as much attention as the house.

"Constant improvement will get you noticed, and word spreads faster than any paid ad will."

Family, hockey, and the three days of sun

Derek and his wife Bianca have been married since 2008. Their son Kainen and daughter Kiya both play hockey and a lineup of other sports, so most weekends are spent at a rink or a field. Add two dogs and a growing business and downtime is rare.

Derek is the booster club president for Palmer High School hockey and has coached several youth teams. When the family gets a free window they are hiking, camping, or, as Derek puts it, "trying to enjoy the three days of sun we get each summer."
